Worcester-based HANGER4LIFE’S range of eco-hangers provides a groundbreaking solution to the millions of wasted hangers sent to landfill each year. The 100% carbon neutral innovation is set to take both consumers and retailers by storm.

Made from the strong ABS plastic used in crash-helmets, the reusable HANGER4LIFE promises an end to fragile, poorly-fitting clothes hangers. Its modular design means it can expand by both size and garment - so that the same hanger with accessories can take trousers, a skirt or jacket, for a child or adult. For consumers who never have the right hanger on hand, it is a perfect solution. For retailers, it reduces hanger variables by up to 75%, cutting costs and offering benefits throughout the supply chain, in terms of reduced shipping volume, inventory and packaging. The result is the world's first truly eco-friendly clothes hanger - remarkably, at no higher cost.

It is the transforming nature of HANGER4LIFE which makes it so environmentally-friendly. By fitting every size and shape garment through extendable arms, clips and a trouser bar, it stops users discarding hangers when garments no longer fit which has a big impact on the numbers going to landfill.

Nick Lewis, Managing Director, HANGER4LIFE, comments: "This is a landmark step for the garment retail industry. Clothes hangers have presented a huge challenge to retailers' eco-credentials as well as creating supply and disposal problems - and shoppers benefit too! We all have wardrobes full of poorly fitting hangers which eventually snap and get thrown away. HANGER4LIFE is a breakthrough on so many levels, saving money and helping pave the way to more sustainable retail.

We use over 40 billion hangers globally each year, and if all of these were carbon neutral it would eliminate 6.5 million tonnes of carbon each year equivalent to taking 1.5 Million family cars off the road each year. Which hanger you use might seem like a small thing, but together we can massively reduce the environmental impact of the way we shop, saving ourselves money and hassle in the process.
