Sarasin - Environmentally friendly business practices |
|
In order to minimise the environmental impact of all the Bank’s business activities, the Sustainability Committee defines environmental goals, from which measures are derived and implemented on a decentralised basis. Sarasin Group set itself the following goals for internal environmental management:
Sarasin Group is completely carbon neutral. This is to be achieved as far as possible through a reduction in CO2 emissions and the offsetting of unavoidable CO2 emissions. "We try to use the most environmentally friendly form of transport for business travel, if possible. •We try to avoid waste mainly at source. We endeavour to dispose of nonrecyclable waste in an environmentally responsible manner. •When commissioning new buildings or refurbishing premises we give priority to efficient energy consumption and the use of environmentally friendly building materials free from any health risk. •When buying office equipment we give priority to durability and low energy consumption. •When procuring office furniture we bear in mind ergonomics, environmentally friendly materials and durability. •We take environmental aspects into account when selecting our suppliers. •We take a positive stance towards pilot projects in our own premises designed to promote energy technology and environmental protection. •We aim to increase the quota of recycled paper to 90%. •Our goal is to reduce paper consumption per employee by 5%.
• Extend the coverage of the environmental management system to 85% of staff employed in locations covered by environmental reporting, as a percentage of the total headcount for the Sarasin Group."
