Imagine - with the touch of a button being able to instantly control the amount of light, glare and heat coming through the windows of your home, office or vehicle. Using Lono LLC’s proprietary light-control technology, products you use every day, windows, skylights, sunroofs and others can be adjusted to go from clear to dark, with adjustable tint in-between.
The result is an aesthetically pleasing look while enhancing privacy, energy efficiency and blocking 99% of the sun’s harmful UV radiation. SmarterShade products do not require any electricity and come with a remote control that can darken all of the treatments at once. Currently there are no aftermarket products for selectable tint window applications. Our solutions will be priced competitively as an attractive alternative to blinds or other traditional window treatments. The Lono team has experience in bringing similar concepts to market, and has received awards for the current design of the “SmarterShade” concept.
SmarterShade is an aftermarket window treatment solution, similar in concept to the emerging technology being called “smart windows” but designed to be easy to install for less cost than smart windows. The first generation of SmarterShade is a framed pane, similar to a storm window that can be fit into the existing window track or frame. It is lightweight, and made of a semi-rigid sheet of scratch resistant plastic. This pane is designed so that it will selectably tint at the push of a button. SmarterShade not only gives the user the ability to tint the window, but also to control the level of tinting. A window can go from nearly clear to dark.
