Waste management strategies for any company should adhere to the hierarchy of most and least favored methods of disposal, and the 3 R’s (reduce, reuse, and recycle). The aim of any waste management plan is to minimize the amount of material to be disposed of, while maximizing the practical advantages.

Although Rebox has built a highly successful business redistributing once-used boxes, not all client waste can be reused. For this reason they have added recycling to the valuable services they are offering. Rebox will be offering full service packages; clients can reuse and recycle as required, or take advantage of each separately.

Since 1990 their focus has been exclusively on re-use as a waste management strategy for their clients, what was the deciding factor in creating a recycling service. According to James Link, Business Development Manager,  “Having been immersed in the world of waste management for 20 years one of the most frequent requests from our many partners was whether we could find outlets for their other waste streams. Our drive to deliver excellent customer service and offer a fully integrated solution felt like the obvious next step.”

This service has actually been in trial operation for a number of months, and the company is now making a full recycling process available in Canada and the US. Rebox will recycle anything non-hazardous: loose and baled cardboard that cannot be reused, plastics, metal, glass, drums, strapping and shrink wrap, and much more. As these items are the mainstay of most manufacturing deposal requirements, they are covering the gamut of waste materials generated from the processes and shipping.

How the waste will be handled at the client’s end is decided on an individual basis after a free consultation from a Rebox representative. The unique needs of the customer as well as such considerations as space, time and labor, are factored into the features of each package. The one constant is that the customer can be assured that Rebox will handle everything. Your business is creating a product; Rebox’s job is to clean up the refuse left behind. Everyone should do what they do best.

Another given is that your waste will NOT find its way into landfill. Rebox has established strategic partnerships in the metal, plastic, glass, paper, and packaging material (strapping for example) recycling industries so they can offer a full service program.

Re-use plans are more beneficial to the client as they generate a higher income stream, and are easier to sustain in the long run. But the undeniable fact is that many byproducts of manufacturing and shipping cannot be re-used. For those waste products a recycling solution is necessary.

Who is the optimal Rebox client: any company that wants to capitalize on their waste management strategies. Medium to large manufacturers and contract packagers including but not limited to the food, beverages, personal care and pharmaceutical world.

Of course the customer is not the only one who will benefit from these enhanced services. Rebox predicts that with more services available to existing clients, and active canvassing for new business, they can envision an increase in company productivity of 15% in the first year.

In the end the final winner is the planet. Rebox has always been intensely involved in the greening of the Earth.
