The Environmental Report 2011 comprises a reading section that gives an introduction to TMC's initiatives that is accessible to as many readers as possible and a facts & figures section that provides detailed background and supporting data.
The report also includes information on measures to reduce electricity use during the summer and other important topics that arose following the Great East Japan Earthquake of March 11, 2011. Unlike the sustainability reports that TMC has released in recent years on its corporate social responsibility initiatives, this year TMC issued a report on the environment separately to improve and expand its environmental disclosures. TMC has issued a total of 14 annual reports to date: Environmental Reports from 1998 to 2002, Environmental & Social Reports from 2003 to 2006, Sustainability Reports from 2007 to 2010, and this year's report.
